Drafting - Design Engineer
Superior Aluminum Products is an industry-leading manufacturer of custom aluminum railings and columns sold across North America. As our company continues with growth strategies and our major plant expansion, the workload of our engineering department continues to increase. We are currently looking for a full-time member to join our engineering department by producing custom shop drawings for our customers. The daily process would be creating new shop drawings off architectural/structural drawings, revising current shop drawings based on field dimensions, and/or getting new orders ready for order entry into our manufacturing process. Ideal candidates will have completed a mechanical engineering/design engineering and/or engineering technology classes at a 2 or 4-year institution.
Position responsibilities include:
- Provide new shop drawings for our customers.
- Revise current shop drawings based on current field conditions.
- Utilize SolidWorks for new/revised shop drawings.
- Balance multiple projects and requests from different sources.

• Studied mechanical engineering/design engineering and/or engineering technology.
• Proficient in reading construction drawings and cut details.

Construction Management Internship
As our company continues with growth strategies and our major plant expansion, the workload of our engineering office continues to increase. We are currently looking for an intern to assist our engineering and sales departments by performing aluminum railing takeoffs.
The start date is targeted as January 2024. Ideal candidates will be enrolled or completed construction management classes and/or have experience reading construction documents.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate takeoffs from construction drawings for use by the sales team
- Utilize Excel forms to organize data
- Balance multiple projects and requests from different sources

Experience/Certification Required:
- Currently studying Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Design or equivalent

Shipping
Superior Aluminum Products has been in business 67 years supplying aluminum railing, fence, and columns for building projects across the United States. We have an immediate need for a full-time, 1st-shift, shipping associate to join our team. This position may require bundling, boxing, counting, sorting, loading trucks and other various tasks to prepare our products for shipment. The standard 40-hour work week is Monday-Thursday from 6:30am-4:00pm and Friday from 6:30-10:30am. Overtime when necessary require extending Friday’s hours until 3:30pm.
We are a family owned business with approximately 50 employees in our production facility. We are also in the process of a major plant expansion.

Punch Press Operator
Superior Aluminum Products has been in business 67 years supplying aluminum railing, fence, and columns for building projects across the United States. We are a family owned business with approximately 50 employees in our production facility and also in the process of a major plant expansion. We have an immediate need for a full-time, 1st-shift, punch press operator to join our team. The standard 40-hour work week is Monday-Thursday from 6:30am-4:00pm and Friday from 6:30-10:30am. Overtime when necessary require extending Friday’s hours until 3:30pm. Position responsibilities are as follows:
- Work closely with department assistant foreman and foreman for coordinating orders on each press machine to ensure daily and weekly schedules are met
- Set up infeed and outfeed table as required depending on product being ran
- Drive forklift to retrieve material for punch process as necessary
- Trouble shoot and recover the machine as necessary
- Understand details of how to re-start and re-run a piece as required by nature of error
- Change dies as necessary depending on product being ran (15~30 lbs.) – Top rail, bottom rail
- Set up dies and manage center to center set-ups on bottom rail (12 variations)
- Manage special setup for side hole only, X pattern, etc.
- Set up special starting points depending on nature of job drawing
- Note – Basic math/fraction figuring skills necessary for this task
- Understand and manage feeds and speeds of equipment per set up
- Understand and manage and adjust oilers per set up
- Understand and adjust the height of the press from top rail to bottom rail (shut height)
- Bring cardboard to baler and operate baler
- Basic maintenance of the press machine – Oil checks, lube, grease as necessary
This position will also flex into an assembler’s role when necessary, estimated as 40%-60% of each week. The assembler position requires operating a screw gun and utilizing various other hand tools to fabricate aluminum railings.

We have an upcoming need for a full-time, 1st-shift, assembler to join our team. The standard 40-hour work week is Monday-Thursday from 6:30am-4:00pm and Friday from 6:30-10:30am. Required overtime hours typically include Friday afternoons until 3:30pm.
